We spent memorial day this year visiting our loved ones and making some new memories. I feel bad that I don't visit the cemeteries very often, I want to, I just get busy and forget. This year I made sure to take the kids to visit my Grandma, Grandpa and Cousin.
Saturday the kids and I drove up to Isanti where my Grandma is buried. The cemetery there is a family plot, my Grandpa and infant cousin (both of whom I never met), my Grandma and my Cousin Tasha are all there.
On the way up we stopped at the Green Barn and bought some flowers to plant for Grandma and Tasha as well as a couple of hanging baskets for our house. They had beautiful flowers and plants!! It is hard to shop locally after seeing there selection.

We planted the yellow and orange flowers for Tasha. It is hard to explain to the kids how she got here, so I didn't.
We didn't stay as long as I had hoped because the bugs were awful, the kids stayed in the car nearly the whole time.
Sunday we all drove down to Fort Snelling to visit my Grandpa. Lucky for us I made a wrong turn and we ended up at the Fort itself, I had never been and was excited to check it out.
It took us a bit but we finally found my Grandpa. I so badly wish the kids knew him, he was such a sweet and gentle man.
